MODULE 1: WHAT IS AND WHAT IS NOT EMOTIONAL
INTELLIGENCE?

GENERAL OBJECTIVES OF THE MODULE

The module aims to clarify what is emotional intelligence and the difference with intellectual
quotient and why both of them are important for the professional and personal success. The
module wants to bring VET learners close to the concept of emotional intelligence by explaining
which competences are related to it, why it´s important to develop them and how to do it.

At the end of the module it is expected that the learners will understand the concepts mentioned
and will be able to evaluate and self-evaluate the competences related to emotional intelligence
in order to assess their own preparation and how they could improve their emotional capacity.

UNITS OF LEARNING:

Unit 1. The concept of emotional intelligence.
Unit 2. Difference between intellectual quotient and emotional intelligence.

Unit 3. The competences related to emotional intelligence
Unit 4. The circle of values

Unit 5. Mindfulness and visualization

Unit 6. Active listening.
