WHY THIS ACTIVITY IS IMPORTANT?
At subconscious level, the information received, thoughts (most of the time automatic),
memories and triggering factors generate reactions and involuntary decisions which
might not be optimal for your success. However, by focusing on the clarity of a desired
outcome, you will increase your chances of reaching it. Moreover, others might help you
come get even more clarity that you can get by yourself, as different people have
different thinking patterns. For example, someone thinking ‘I can’t get good grades
because I’m stupid’ – and the others might help him/her understand that this is not the
case – maybe he/she is just not prepared enough – so the thought will be turned into ‘I
can get good grades because I am willing to invest more time and attention to prepare’.
Each thought creates or triggers at least one emotion (or more). A negative thought will
have a disempowering emotion attached to it. If you reframe the thought, the attached
emotion will be an empowering one.

Write down a past experience or a future one you think you’re unable to do although
you have reasonable resources (e.g. taking an exam, making a presentation, etc.)
Allocate 5 minutes to choosing an experience/situation, identify the trigger thoughts
and attached emotions. Then allocate 3 minutes for each person to present the
